For our party at Gorilla this month, we’re celebrating one of our favourite musicians, and all around cool dude, Pharrell Williams. At midnight we’ll be dropping a special set of Skateboard P classics, from N*E*R*D to his solo jams, as well as his productions and collaborations with the likes of Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, Kelis, Daft Punk, Justin Timberlake, Clipse, Noreaga and many, many others. Grab an early bird ticket here, you know it’s going to be a good one…

N.O.R.E. – Nothin’
Clipse – When The Last Time
Dope new album from our boy Kuartz, who has teamed up with Cook for “The Tormented Revenge of Slick Jnr”, a concept LP set in the wild west. This is a very different world from Will Smith’s Wild Wild West though; think dark slide guitars, dusty breaks, clinking stirrups, gunshots, saloon doors creaking & more gunshots, like RZA jamming with Ennio Morricone during a bar fight. You can download the whole album for free from the Suburban Soul bandcamp page.
Some snaps from our Biggie special at Gorilla on Friday, cheers to everyone who came through, crazy night. At one point the queue stretched from Gorilla all the way up to the Cornerhouse, we’re not playing around when we tell you to get down early if you want to get in! All the rest of the photos from the night are up on our Facebook page, and are all courtesy of Dom “Perignon” Varden as always.
Shouts to our mates at This Is Hip Hop who are bringing The Lox (Jadakiss, Styles P and Sheek Louch), Capone-N-Noreaga and Onyx here over the next few months, effectively turning Manchester into New York circa 1998. Both these shows are unmissable for fans of that gully NY sound, click either of the flyers above to get tickets.
The Lox – New York City
Capone-N-Noreaga feat. Faith Evans – Hood Pride
Onyx – Slam

Champagne was sprayed, glitter cannons were fired, classics were played way too loud… the Juicy NYE party went off every bit as big as we expected. Thanks to everyone who came down and partied till dawn, here are some snaps courtesy of Dom “Perignon” Varden. As always, you can find the rest up on our Facebook site.
Tomorrow night we’re back to party in the capital, get your bad selves down to the Shacklewell Arms in Dalston (nearest tube: Dalston Kingsland / Dalston Junction) where we’ll be getting busy till the early hours. Just three quid in before midnight, so no excuses…
